Middle-Autum Festival

Today is the Chinese Middle-Autumn Festival. The day is a very important day for the Chinese. It is a traditional festival. There are many poems about this festival. One of these poems was written more than before 1,500 years ago. It tells about someone was sleeping on the bed and seeing the big moon on the sky, and getting a homesick.  Most of the Chinese all over the world will eat moon cakes and have dinners with their families. Some of the Chinese who live in other countries will feel more homesick.

Special Event Rally for United Way

The United Way is a charity that raises money and volunteers for projects that help the people in our community. Our school is one of the agencies that both helps the United Way and receives help from it.
Every fall, the United Way starts a campaign to raise money to help community organizations and projects all across Toronto.
All of the students and the staff in Program went to the campaign place yesterday. We left the school at 10:30. After we went downstairs, we walked along Consumer Road westbound and got to the Victoria Park bus station. We took buses there. When we got to the destination, there were many people there. The office asked us to put on T-shirts. There were micro-skill patterns on T-shirts. They were white in colour. After we put on the T-shirts, we went into the main hall. The hall was small and simple. This is very different from this in China. In china, all the meeting places are wide and florid, and meetings last long time. So I thought the meeting would last over one hour. In fact, we just spent 20 minutes there.
