Middle-Autum Festival

Today is the Chinese Middle-Autumn Festival. The day is a very important day for the Chinese. It is a traditional festival. There are many poems about this festival. One of these poems was written more than before 1,500 years ago. It tells about someone was sleeping on the bed and seeing the big moon on the sky, and getting a homesick.  Most of the Chinese all over the world will eat moon cakes and have dinners with their families. Some of the Chinese who live in other countries will feel more homesick.

Special Event Rally for United Way

The United Way is a charity that raises money and volunteers for projects that help the people in our community. Our school is one of the agencies that both helps the United Way and receives help from it.
Every fall, the United Way starts a campaign to raise money to help community organizations and projects all across Toronto.
All of the students and the staff in Program went to the campaign place yesterday. We left the school at 10:30. After we went downstairs, we walked along Consumer Road westbound and got to the Victoria Park bus station. We took buses there. When we got to the destination, there were many people there. The office asked us to put on T-shirts. There were micro-skill patterns on T-shirts. They were white in colour. After we put on the T-shirts, we went into the main hall. The hall was small and simple. This is very different from this in China. In china, all the meeting places are wide and florid, and meetings last long time. So I thought the meeting would last over one hour. In fact, we just spent 20 minutes there.

Yesterday might have been the hottest day in Toronto. The government gave early warning ofr hot weather. It was 38 degrees. It felt like 48 degree. When I drove on the road, even when I turned the air condition to the maximum, I also didn't feel cool, and there were seldom pedestrians. My house turned on air condition all day. I poured water in a toy swimming pool for my child playing. I didn't do other angthings, except stay indoor to watch TV.

In modern society, most people have owner blogs. Using it to record something instead of journals and photos and to express owner thinking.
Joseph, our teacher,  taught us how to set up our blogs in my first week in class.  It is easy to do that. You should go to a blog wed site to apply for a user name. you In this step  have to provide your email  address and some of your personal information. But designing your blog and making it better is not easy. Joseph taught us how to put pictures and videos in the blogs, how to add a link, how to check the spelling of the words, and how to post.

THE CITY GRAVENHURST

I take my mother and father in-laws to visit Gravenhurst on Canada Day . This city is the hometown of a Chinese friend Dr.Norman Bethune. It is near Lake Muskoka. about 200 kilometers nearby Toronto. It is not big, but it is beautiful. There are many rives and small lakes around the city. Water in lakes and rives  is very clean. The air is very fresh. The  people are very nice. Most families have swimimg boats and private wharves. There are many fishes. It is a good place for fishing.
